A cleaner key, with a few adjustments
Choose a green-screen photo. We sample the border for a starting background color; use Pick color if it misses. Raise removal strength to clear more of the backdrop, soften the transition, then reduce green spill around the subject. Compare with the original before downloading.
Best with an evenly lit green backdrop
This tool keys out a color, so green clothing or props may also disappear. Uneven lighting, shadows, motion blur and fine hair can leave rough edges. It does not reconstruct hidden detail or separate a subject from a busy background.
For everyday photos, try the AI background removerFrequently asked questions
Is this green screen remover free?
Yes. This image tool runs locally without an account, credits, paid models or a watermark. It does not use your daily AI allowance.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Image processing and PNG export happen in your browser. We collect basic page and tool events for usage analytics, but not images, filenames or picked colors. Closing this page clears the working image from the tool.
Which files and sizes are supported?
Use a JPG, PNG or WebP image up to 20 MB and 40 megapixels. Larger accepted images are resized to at most 4096 px on the longest side; export is a transparent PNG. Your device may impose a lower graphics limit. Videos, animated-image playback and SVG are not supported.
Why are parts of my subject missing or green?
Chroma key removes pixels similar to the selected background color, including green objects on your subject. Pick a representative background color and adjust strength, softness and spill reduction. Difficult hair, deep shadows and translucent objects may need a dedicated editor.
Does it work on mobile?
It is designed for desktop and mobile browsers with WebGL enabled. Processing uses your device graphics hardware; availability and speed vary. If graphics processing is unavailable, the tool shows an error instead of uploading the image elsewhere.
